Heavily textured paintings on board. Each measures 4 foot x 4 foot and makes an impact and statement upon viewing. Please remember that a picture is not worth a thousand words when it comes to art. To be able to see the vivid colors and reach out and touch and feel the painting and texture is all part of the experience. Please keep that in mind when viewing my work. My paintings were featured in the Heartland Foundation Art Show honoring artists who were affected, impacted or motivated by the firestorm that swept through San Diego in October 2003.
"Dark City" is done with acrylic paint in black, gold and silver with a texturing medium giving it definition and depth. It is reminiscent of a city on the edge of a river with the hint of golden sunlight in the backlight. Shadow box framing is done in the same colors as the painting and blends into the background so that all attention is on the painting and not on the frame. Very contemporary. BIG painting 4ft x 4ft. $650.00
"Snowflake" has the illusion when the light hits it that it is moving... very intriguing. It is done in acrylic paint and texturing medium and is custom framed with a 'shadow box' effect in the same color as the pictures...so it blends in with the picture. People have told me they just want to reach out and touch it. $750.00
"Firestorm" is done on board with texturing medium to bring out the different colors blended together. Heavily textured in swirls and patterns they dance across the painting. Oil paints in black, bright yellow and scarlet were the only colors used on this painting but the blending brings out many differnt hues with their combinations. A very intriguing painting. SOLD
This painting I did to try to heal and direct my energy and pain into my work. That is the reason I named it "Firestorm". It was one of the turning points towards recovery.
